Thank you for posting this. Your arguments are insightful, and your prose sharp. It was a pleasure reading it. That said, what many of us take issue with is JBP’s lack of intelectual humility when discussing topics that clearly lie outside his area of expertice (a la climate change), and the attitude of superiority with which he brush off those who disagree with him — particularly crtitics who point out flaws in his positions. His tendency to present highly speculative ideas (a la archeptypes) as if they were unquestionable truths, is also disconcerting to many of us. I do agree tho, that most of the criticism hurled at him have been strawmen and empty rhetoric. I truly hope the left will rise above this nonsense.
