“ Farmers are the experts, they need to answer them.”

Farmers are no doubt the experts on farming, but as this article seems to confirm, one might expect them to be ignorant about climate science. The short halflife of atmosphericic methane is more than compensated for by its major league potency as a GHG. The GWP factor quoted, 28, is a hundred year average - I.e. over a century (of with methane spends only 10 years in the athmosphere), a tonn of methane will trap 28 times more heat than a tonn of CO2 (even tho the CO2 remained in the athmosphere over the entire periode).
